Choose Boundary Bay for Neurology

We offer specialty veterinary neurology services by board-certified neurologists, serving dog and cat owners throughout B.C. and northern Washington. We invite you to consider the following reasons to entrust your pet to Boundary Bay’s neurology specialists.

Our Veterinary Neurologists are Board-Certified

Our board-certified neurologists have completed additional, rigorous training and education. They have performed hundreds of the most difficult surgeries and treated complicated neurological cases and trauma. Collectively, our neurologists have over 25 years of board-certified experience.

Our Hospital is Staffed 24/7/365, Including Statutory Holidays

The ER and ICU are staffed around the clock with highly trained and experienced staff, including ER doctors, board-certified criticalists, on-call board-certified neurologists and other specialists, Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants to help with incoming neurological emergencies and support post-operative patients.

Hospital-grade equipment

Hospital-grade equipment and diagnostics; non-invasive techniques; dedicated separate neurology operating rooms; access to multi-modal pain control. These factors decrease complications, speed recovery and reduce pain for your pet.

We treat your pet like it was our own

Your pet gets dedicated 24/7 care and monitoring from veterinarians and veterinary technicians; the patient’s well-being is assessed, they get their medications, get out of their cage for walks, get fed, and importantly, get lots of hugs.

How to Get a Referral to Our Neurological Services

There are two ways to get an appointment for specialty care at our hospital:

  1. From your primary veterinarian
A referral ensures the proper transfer of medical information. It is beneficial to your pet and the specialty veterinarian to have all relevant medical information and will help your pet receive appropriate care.
  2. Contact us directly
You are welcome to contact us directly without a referral if you believe your pet would benefit from specialty or behaviour care. However, we believe strongly in working hand-in-hand with your family veterinarian to provide comprehensive care, and if it is possible to provide records or a referral from your family vet, it is helpful. Please contact us at 604-514-8383 or at info@bbvsh.com.

Our Code of Conduct

we love animals

Respect

We are here to take good care of your pet and we’re committed to establishing trust and mutual respect with our clients, however, please know that abusive language, aggressive behaviour, and lack of respect toward any of our staff members will not be tolerated.

Most Critical First

We prioritize care based on severity, ensuring that the most critically ill patients receive attention first. Upon arrival, your pet will undergo a thorough triage assessment to determine the level of urgency. This process allows us to quickly identify and treat potentially life-threatening conditions.

Pay For Service

Emergency Services aim to diagnose and support your pet during their illness or crisis; however, please recognize that you are paying for the services rendered, not the results achieved. The fees cover time, expertise, and resources dedicated to your pet’s care, regardless of outcome.

If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, come directly to our hospital.

Walk-ins are welcome; no appointment is required.

If you are able, call ahead and let us know you are coming.
